NOKIA N-Gage QD

NOKIA has announced today a new form of it's multi-purpose telephone / gamepad / radio / mp3 / etc. machine N-Gage. The new gear will be called N-Gage QD and it will be a 'cut-down' version (cheaper too) than it's elder brother. There's a series of changes too which brings it's absolute numbers to a smaller size, there's also a hotswap input for fast SD card exchange (at last!). Talk is cheap, so take a pick at the official webpage.

MAME WiPs and WiPs it hard!

A *HUGE* MAME WiP is online together with the latest screenshots. We will post some of the headlines here:

2004-04-11: ElSemi sent in some lighting fixes to the Sega Model 1 driver. Ville Linde improved the tilemap emulation further in the Seibu SPI driver, added support for alternate video hardware in Viper Phase 1 and added the mahjong controller to E-Jan High School but it doesn't work yet. R. Belmont sent in some cleanups to the Konami System GX driver. David Haywood added sprite drawing to the Raiden 2 driver, but it's still not playable.

2004-04-10: Stefan Jokisch added an alternate version of Leprechaun and Pirate Treasure (Leprechaun with different graphics) to the Leprechaun driver. Aaron Giles added some HLE to the sample upload commands in the DCS2 system, speeding up the Seattle games somewhat.

2004-04-09: Aaron Giles removed a logerror from the vblank callback in cpuexec.c and fixed the slow booting in the Seattle driver. Ville Linde sent in another update to the Seibu SPI driver with much better graphics emulation, though still with encrypted graphics. smf fixed Raystorm which now works completely.

Raystorm pictures sure looking great I must say... Let's hope Haze won't be long before the next source update... ;) In the meantime, you can view the whole MAME WiP at its official webpage.

Aaron's WiPs it hard too!

Aaron has updated his webpage with the latest 'achievements'. A great improvement on the Seattle games I must say. Pictures are talking by themselves...

MAME Source update(s)

Haze is being up to it for the last couple of days... 0.81u1, 0.81u2, and (yes) 0.81u3 source updates are available for download at his page. Get your compilers ready and happy compiling!

MAME WiP!

The official MAME WiP page has been updated a few days ago with A LOT of pictures. I say no more! head up here to see for yourselves.

DOS Box CVS version

DOS Box is a way to emulate an old PC with integrated DOS within the brand new supa-dupa PC of yours. If you ask why you want to do so into the windows XP I can say one good reason: Abandon-ware! Besides, (you selfish you!) there are also, our friends of the Linux community! (Yes it runs under Linux too). So, the CVS (aka: coming up next) version is able to boot up win3.0 (I BET that very few of you can recall that version). Anyway. You can visit the official website by clicking here and see for yourself what this emulator can do.
