GooApple V.5

Hello there. I wish you a nice 2012 and hope you got what you wished for on vacation time. I did get a present from Santa this year. It’s called GooApple V.5 and it’s basically a clone of Apple iPhone 4 (almost same specs, but android based).

I got it from www.android-sale.com and I recommend the guys. They’re pretty straightforward and they have perfect communication.

After I got it into my hands, I’ve figured out that it was nothing like my previously owned Dell Streak. GPS was not functional, location services sucked, wifi was very faint etc.

After a couple of google searches I’ve managed to find several teams on the web with the most significant being (for the certain phone) over here @ xda developers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389930
It’s a long reading if you have the time - but if you own the device you’ll find every piece of information there a great gift.

So after a lot of searching and reading, I’ve managed to build a custom rom which you can find here:

I guess if you have the phone, you’ll find this post useful, so; enjoy!

Merry Christmas!

If you haven’t heard, there’s a great gift for you lucky owners of iphone/ipads/whatever out there. Appstore has posted (for free) iMAME which is what you just guessed. If you need info on how to add roms to your iDevice here’s how:

So, Merry Xmas...

MAME 0.144

After nearly 4 months of beta updates, it seems its time for a brand new official release of our beloved emulator. A ton of changes, 2 tons of fixes and plenty of games. Check here for the binary update (command line) or you can head straight for the UI version
/me turns romhunting mode ON.

MAME 0.143

During a rather busy period for me and my family and an economic disaster involving the whole Greece, I have managed to see the light of vacation at a long tunnel starting at the end of July. In the meantime I’ve managed to get very little updates concerning the Emulation community, with the most interesting part being that John Hardy IV has an alternative way to run and enjoy official MAME versions from now and then. It’s called IV/Play (FourPlay; NOT Foreplay... you naughty you!), providing basically a frontend for our beloved Emulator MAME.

So; unless you don’t already know, it’s romhunting season since MAME 0.143 is out. Go! Go! Go!

MAME 0.142

Long time gone now; it’s been nearly three months without our emulator of choice. So; the nice guys over at mamedev decided to release version 0.142. You can find it at the official site, while the UI version is on its way too.
Ti’s the season boys! Happy romhunting!
